Graffiti BBDO comes with a "Golden Stick" from Golden Drum!
Bucharest, October 12, 2003

Graffiti BBDO won the Golden Stick for the best print in the alcoholic beverages category, at the tenth edition of the New Europe Advertising Festival - Golden Drum in Portoroz (Slovenia), which took place during October 5-10, 2003.

The work that brought Graffiti BBDO the Golden Stick is called "Positive" and was created for Guinness (URBB). The creative team signing "Positive" is made up of Adrian Preda - Creative Director, Cosmin Ezaru - Copywriter & Art Director, Diana Pojoga - CS Account Manager. Graffiti BBDO was also nominated in the outdoor category for the work entitled "Adhesives" - client: Pagini Aurii (creative team made up of Adrian Preda-Copywriter, Cosmin Ezaru-Art Director, Raluca Sultan-CS Account Manager).

Adrian Preda, Deputy Creative Director Graffiti BBDO, says "the Jury did not want to turn the festival into a second-rate one. There were campaigns that had been awarded at Cannes but only won a silver at Portoroz. That's precisely why an award granted by such a demanding jury says a lot about the quality of our works. Anyway, "Positive" would not have been possible without a client that was not entirely familiar with the "creativity that sells" principle. And the Golden Stick is as much ours as it is URBB's", Preda concludes. .

For the first time at an international advertising festival, Romania was represented in the jury by Lucian Georgescu, Creative Director Graffiti BBDO. "Tough job: over 2,000 works, different languages and cultures, and a responsibility hanging like a cannon ball. Moreover, the frustration of silently displaying the nakedness of your own works in front of the fellow jury people. Nothing, however, could wipe away the joy of grading my own country. When I drew the line and I was the first to find that Romania had gone up on the podium, with a record number of points, I was, for one moment, happy and content", says Lucian Georgescu.

Romania obtained 19 nominations this year, 7 of them resulting in awards.

Another premiere at this edition of the Golden Drum Festival was the Romanian national party, hosted by Romania's ambassadors at Golden Drum, Serban Huidu and Mihai Gainusa.

In 2003, Graffiti BBDO obtained nominations and awards at prestigious international advertising festivals: Golden Beach Umbrella 2003 - the most important award; ADDEE Palermo 2003 - special jury award; World Media Festival Hamburg 2003 - Intermedia Globe Silver; Festival of Ideas 2003 - shortlisted; London International Advertising Awards 2003 - shortlisted. The agency was also awarded at the two important national competitions - AdPrint 2003 (best campaign and best print) and Ad'Or 2003 (best print at the pharmaceutical and cosmetic products category).
